An association of professionals, led by professionals
2APA aims to bring together African professionals of the aviation and aerospace sector in order to promote excellence, visibility and the full participation of African talent in the growth of the sector across the continent.
- Founded
- April 2026
- Seat
- Douala, Cameroon
- Status
- Apolitical, non-profit association
- Framework
- Cameroonian association law, African Union instruments
Why 2APA?
Because African aviation will be built with the people who make it work.
Aviation connects the continent
Civil aviation, and air transport in particular, play a strategic part in African integration. The Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063 make it a shared undertaking.
African skills are there
Engineers, pilots, controllers, technicians, managers, trainers: these professionals work on the continent and in the diaspora. 2APA gives them a place to come together, be seen and take part in the sector’s projects and bodies.
The next generation needs guidance
Aviation careers remain little known to the public and surrounded by myths. Young people and women must be able to reach training, mentoring and employment.
Our motto
An African aerospace imagined, sustained and steered by Africans
It states the association’s founding vision: African skills should design, sustain and lead the continent’s aviation, rather than only operate systems conceived elsewhere.
Our objectives
We have set ourselves these objectives:
- To act as an apolitical, non-profit organisation.
- To explain aviation careers to the African public and dispel the myths that surround the sector.
- To bring together African professionals of the sector so that they take an active part in the growth of the aviation market in Africa.
- To showcase and promote African expertise, including that of the diaspora, in aviation projects and bodies.
- To contribute to continental integration through aviation, notably by supporting the SAATM and Agenda 2063.
- To ease access to training, mentoring and employment, particularly for young people and women.
- To promote joint projects, shared experience, training and partnerships among Africans in the sector.
- To develop strategic partnerships with national, regional and international institutions.
